New walleye tournament in Kenora targets women anglers

Fishing tournaments and derbies are pervasive during the summer in northwestern Ontario, but this one is just for the ladies.

Fishing tournaments and derbies are pervasive during the summer in northwestern Ontario.

Towns like Atikokan, Fort Francesand Nakina will all be attracting competitive anglers over the next few weeks.

The city of Kenora plays host to a couple of bass tournaments in the summer, including the popular Kenora Bass International.

But there is another event planned for Kenora this August and it is focused specifically on women anglers.
