Northwestern Ontario musicians throw support behind Sounds of the Season

Live music, tours and draws all part of festive fundraiser for RFDA

Northwestern Ontario musicians TheGreenbank Trio and Nick Shermanare throwing their support behind CBC Thunder Bay's Sounds of the Season,a fundraiser for the Regional Food Distribution Association (RFDA).

On Friday December 4th, CBC Thunder Bay is throwing opening the doors to itsstudios at213 East MilesStreet at 6:00 a.m.with live programming, tours and funthrough to 6:00 p.m.

Donations of non-perishable food itemsare being collected for the RFDA,which supports food banks across northwestern Ontario, providing hampers for more than 13,000 people and meals for more than 26,000 annually.

Starting off the day, the band TheGreenbank Trio, known for their three-part harmony, perform live on Superior Morning between 6:00 a.m.and 8:30 a.m.

Singer-songwriter Nick Sherman, who's songs are rooted in a contemporary folk sound, is the musical guest on aspecial afternoon show from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Besides enjoying the live performances, you can meet the crew at CBC Thunder Bay, grab a cup of coffee and win a great door prize.

You're asked to bring along non-perishable food items when youdrop by.Last year's Sounds of the Season eventraised more than $17,000 and 225 kilograms of food for the Regional Food Distribution Association.
The public is encouraged to drop off donations of non-perishable food items for the Regional Food Distibution Assocation at the CBC Thunder Bay studios, on December 4th to celebrate Sounds of the Season. (CBC Thunder Bay)
