Thunder Bay city manager Tim Commisso set to enter retirement

City manager Tim Commisso left his final city council meeting Monday night in Thunder Bay before embarking on retirement.

Longtime public servant thanks staff, public for support

City manager Tim Commisso lefthis final city council meeting Monday night in Thunder Bay before embarking on retirement.

He took the opportunity to publicly thank his colleagues and constituentsfor their support duringhis seven years as city manager, after three and a halfdecades of public service.

"It's about making your community better, and it's about serving people. That's what we are. We are public servants," Commisso said.

"And the true essence of public service is to make people's lives better, and, quite frankly, to make the community better."

The city manager says he hopes he's done just that and adds he has enjoyed his time in the public sector.

Commisso's final day as Thunder Bay's city manager before he enters retirement is Friday. That's also when he is scheduled to appear on CBC Thunder Bay's Superior Morning.
