Warm weather here for a while, says Environment Canada

Don't rush to dig out your parkas just yet, says Geoff Coulson, a meteorologist from Environment Canada.

The unseasonably-warm, record-setting weather seen so far this fall in northwestern Ontario is expected to stick around for another few weeks, at least.

Coulson said colder temperatures will eventually arrive, but likely not until next month.

"There does seem to be growing evidence that as we get towards the end of fall, or the start of official winter, in late December, we may see a bit of a turnaround from what we've been experiencing," Coulson said.

November's warm temperatures have already broken daytime records in several areas of the northwest, and Coulson said more than a few locations may break records on Thursday, which Environment Canada is predicting will be higher than seasonal averages.

Coulson says normal highs for this time of year would be in the zero to three degree range.
