A 12-year-oldwas struck by a driver while bikingacross a crosswalk in Brampton Wednesday night, Peel Regional Police say.

Injuries serious, but not-life-threatening, police say

A 12-year-oldwas struck by a driver while bikingacross a crosswalk in Brampton Wednesday night, Peel Regional Police say.

The child was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police say, after being struck at the intersection of Kennedy Road and Ruth Avenue as the light changed. Police have not confirmed the child's gender.

The driver remained on the scene and was cooperating with police, they say.

Northbound and southbound lanes on Kennedy Road were closed between Sandalwood Parkway and BovairdDrive.
