A FEW OF THE MEMORIES HIP FANS HAVE SHARED WITH US

Noreen'stouching story:
Noreen, Tragically Hip Fan.

I have been a Hip fan for 22 years. I was diagnosed with a non cancerousbrain tumour 4 years ago calledAcoustic Neuroma. It affects my hearing in one ear (tinnitus), and causesloss of balance Dizziness (vertigo).

I didn't think I would be able to go to a concert anymore with these symptoms but because of the courage of Gordon Downie getting on stage with his diagnosis, I went to the August 5 concert in Winnipeg. He is an inspiration.

Rudy shares Hip life lessons:

When my daughters were younger, and occasionally complaining about how life was treating them, I would sing, "That's awful close, but that's not why, I'm so hard done by". Pretty soon they were doing it to each other. Who needs parenting manuals when you've got The Hip to teach your kids to be grateful for what they've got?!

Chris describes "the day that changed my life":

July 1, 1992, Canada's 125th Birthday. At Molson Park in Barrie, the Hip took the stage midday. They blew our hair back with "Cordelia" mesmerized us with "Last of the unplucked gems" and absolutely made the earth move with "Blow at High Dough". This was no longer just my favourite band. They had become a part of my identity!
