Ford says Ward 3 appointment decision 'absolutely insane'

Mayor Rob Ford says it is "absolutely insane" that council decided that going with an appointment process was a better method of filling Doug Holyday's vacant seat than holding a byelection in Etobicoke Centre.

Mayor Rob Ford says it is "absolutely insane" that council decided that going with an appointment process was a better method of filling Doug Holyday's vacant seat than holding a byelection in Etobicoke Centre.

When hosting his weekly radio show, Ford said he wasdisappointed with the decision council made about the vacancy in Ward 3late last month.

More than that, Ford said is unhappy with the process thatthevote has triggered, in which various parties will be vying to take over Holydays seat.

"This whole process stinks. I dont like it, I dont feel comfortable with it," he told Newstalk 1010 listeners on Sunday afternoon.

While the mayor isn't happy with councils decision, he said it'snow his job to support the appointment process.
