Westbound Gardiner Expressway reopens after Etobicoke crash

All westbound lanes of the Gardiner Expressway have reopenedat the Park Lawn Road exit in Etobicoke after they weretemporarily closed fora crash investigation, police say.

Toronto police said it responded around 5:30 a.m. Monday to reports of a two vehicle collision on the westbound section of the highway.

That crash wasn't serious, but while responding at the scenea Toronto Fire truck was struck by athird vehicle that wasn't involved in the initial crash,Toronto police Const.Viktor Saruditold CBC News.

The man driving the vehicle that struck the fire truck was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threateninginjuries, Sarudi said. No firefighters were injured, he added.

Traffic wasdiverted for several hours due to the closure, but the roads have since reopened.
