The defence and Crown have wrapped up their cases in the Jian Ghomeshi sexual assault trial in Toronto, with the judge's decision expected to come onMarch 24.

During her final arguments Thursday,Ghomeshi'slawyer MarieHeneinsaid theevidence presented "falls far short" of proving that the former CBC Radio host is guilty of sexual assault.

Earlier in the day, Crown prosecutor Michael Callaghan argued that inconsistencies in the stories of the witnesses do not prove the complainantsconsented to the allegedassaults.

Ghomeshi, 48, of Toronto, has pleaded not guilty to four counts of sexual assault and one count of overcoming resistance by choking connected to incidents alleged to have occurred in 2002 and 2003.
