iPhone theft caught on tape, police want to identify suspects

Toronto police have released security camera footage they hope will help identify two women wanted in connection with a theft of an Apple iPhone at a restaurant.

Toronto police have released security camera footagethey hope will help identify two women wanted in the theft of an iPhonefrom a restaurant table.

Police say the phonewas left unattended on a tableand stolen from a restaurant near Dundas Street West and University Avenue on June 29, 2015.

The video shows two young women standing near a table. When a server moves out of view, one of the women picks up the phone offthe table and puts in it her purse.

The theft happened on June 29, 2015, at around 3 p.m.

The suspect was wearing a grey T-shirt, beige shorts and was carrying a yellow purse.

The woman standing next to her in the video, who police say is a person of interest, was wearing a baseball cap.
