Kathleen Wynne to promote Ontario in trips to U.S., China

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne said Wednesday she will travel to the United States and China, the province's two largest trading partners, to promote investment opportunities here.

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne said Wednesday she will travel to the United States and China, the province's two largest trading partners,to promote investment opportunities here.

Wynne will take part in the first-ever Summit of North American Governors and Premiers in Colorado Springs, Colo., from October 30 to 31.

Following the summit, she will visit Los Angeles and San Francisco from November 1 to 4. While in San Francisco, she will promote Ontario's strengths as a partner in information and communications technology. During her visit to Los Angeles, Wynne will explore opportunities for collaboration in the creative industries, her office said in a statement.

On November 4, the premier will travel to China on a trade mission, where she will be joined by several Ontario business delegations. During her 10-day trip, she will visit Nanjing, Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong. Wynne is hopeful her trip will build on the success of her first mission to Chinain the fall of 2014that saw Ontario secure 11 investment projects valued at $966 million.
