Leafs make the playoffs for 1st time in 4 years

The Toronto Maple Leafs clinched a playoff spot for the first time in four years, with a heart-stopping goal in the final minutes of the game that sent them to victory.

The Toronto Maple leafs are headed to the playoffs for the first time in four years.

Forward Connor Brown scored a heart-stopping goal in the final minutes against the Pittsburgh Penguins Saturday night,securing a 5-3 victory for the teamand a coveted playoff spot.

That brought kudos from even non-hockey types.

And had some wondering, "What year is it?"

The victory came aftergoaltenderFrederik Andersen was pulled off the iceafter a hit to the head by Penguins forward TomSestito, which left some wondering if the team was on thin ice.

The Leafs will play the Ottawa Senators in the first round of the playoffs if they pick up at least a point in their season finale against Columbus on Sunday.
