Toronto man wanted for murder in May shooting arrested in U.K.

A Toronto man wanted for murder in connection with a shooting downtown in May has been arrested in the United Kingdom, police say.

A Toronto man wanted for murder in connection with a shooting downtown in May has been arrested in the United Kingdom, police say.

On May 22, Toronto police responded to a call for "unknown trouble" near Isabella and Jarvis streets, according to a news release issued May 28.

A man was found lying on the ground behind a building with obvious signs of trauma, police said. He diedfour days later in hospital.

The victim was identified as Jesse Tubbs, 30, of Mississauga.

At the time, police issued a Canada-wide arrestwarrant for a 24-year-old suspect.

The suspect was located and arrested in Luton, England on Aug. 19, according to a news release on Monday.

He is being held by authorities in the U.K. and, pending extradition to Canada,will be charged with first-degree murder.
