Man arrested in connection with 'unprovoked' stabbing at St. George station

The attack marked the second time aviolent incident took place on asubway platform in the past week.

A 23-year-oldman has been arrested in connection with a stabbing at St. George subway stationthat left anotherman in serious condition.

Toronto police said a 30-year-old manwas talking to someone on the station's platform around 11:30p.m. on Tuesday when another man approached and stabbed him in the neck.

Paramedics said the victimwas rushed to hospitalin serious but non-life-threatening condition.

Police said the suspectwas arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.

The attack, which police described as"unprovoked," marks the second time aviolent incident took place on asubway platform in the past week, after a woman waspushed onto subway tracks Sunday evening.

The accused is scheduledto attend court Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
