A 32-year-old man who was working as an instructor at a Mississauga religious school has been charged with sexual assault, Peel Regional Police say.

In a news release Saturday, investigators alleged the man had assaulted two children. Police did not name the school where the alleged assault took place.

Police are asking any additional witnesses, or anyone with information on the incident, to contact investigators.

The accused man is in custody pending a bail hearing, police said, and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.
