Video captures pair setting movie theatre ablaze in suspected arson

Police are looking for two people who set fire to the lobby of a Richmond Hill movie theatre on the weekend using what appear to be Molotov cocktails.

Police have released video of a pair of suspects setting a Richmond Hill movie theatre ablaze over the weekend and are asking for the public's help to track them down.

The fire happened Sunday in the area of East Beaver Creek and Highway 7, where police were called at about 11:10 p.m. No one was injured but there were people on the second floor, York Regional Policesaid in a news release on Tuesday.

Security camera footage released by police appears to show agrey SUV stoppingin front of the movie theatre's main entrance.

Two people get out of the vehicle, walk through the entrance, throw a bag on the floor, then toss in what appear to be Molotov cocktails. The pair then dash out the door as a fire breaks out.

The getaway vehicle, a grey Acura RDX with the Ontario licence plate DCKP 812, was reported stolen in Toronto on Oct. 28, according to police.

Police describe both suspects as having medium builds. The first suspect was wearing black shoes, black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt with a white shirt underneath, black gloves and a mask.

The second suspect was wearing white shoes, black pants, a grey hooded sweatshirt, black gloves and a mask.
