2 new GO Transit trains on Milton-Toronto line starting September

Starting in September, there will be two more trains on the Milton to Toronto GO transit line.

The province says it's funding more for transit infrastructure to reduce congestion

There will be two new GO Transit trains runningalong the Milton toToronto line starting September6.

The additional trips include a 5:59a.m. weekday train departing Milton GOto Union Station,and an evening rush hour train departing at 5:55 p.m. from Union Station to Milton GO. Both trains will be making all seven stops in between.

There will also be 12 new GO bus trips between downtown Cambridge and Milton starting this September.

The new trips will address "Milton's unique transit and congestion challenges," according to theMinistry of Transportation'snews release.

"I'm pleased to acknowledge the government is listening to our local requests," said Indira Naidoo-Harris, an MPP for Halton. "Making more transit options available is terrific news for the people of Halton and Peel Regions."

The province said it is investing about $160 billion over 12 yearsin transit infrastructure. It's the largest investment in public infrastructure in Ontario's history, according to the ministry.
