Man dead after morning stabbing in North York

Thehomicide unit is investigatingafter a 61-year-old man was stabbed to death at a North York residential building Thursday morning, Toronto police said.

Emergency crews were called tothe area ofParkwoods Village Drive and Victoria Park Avenue just after 7:30 a.m., police said.

Emergency crews found the victim unconscious and not breathing, said police spokesperson Katrina Arrogante, adding thatthey attemptedCPR.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, paramedics said.

Police believe the victim lived at the building, said Insp. Jim Gotell.

Police did not provide information about a suspect, butGotell said there is no threat to public safety at this time.
