Toronto police seek victim's father after Scarborough homicide

Toronto police have released the name of the woman found dead Friday in a Scarborough apartment as they work towards locating the victim's father.

Toronto police have released the name of the woman found deadFriday in a Scarborough apartment as they work towards locating the victim's father.

Police said Simone"Shanni" Reid, 18, was found unconscious and not breathing Friday at approximately 1:15 p.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene in an apartmenton 3275 SheppardAvenue East, which is located west of Warden Avenue.

Police said a post-mortem examination has been done but the cause of death is not being made public at this time.

The victim's father, Toronto resident Winston "Paul" Reid, 49, has not yet been notified by police, who are searching for his vehicle. Police added Reid may be driving a blue 2003 Toyota Sienna minivanwith licence plate BKSK 765.
