3 convicted of killing man mistakenly

Three Toronto men have been convicted of killing a man they mistakenly believed belonged to a rival gang.

Tyshan Riley and Phillip Atkins, both 26, and 23-year-old Jason Wisdom were all members of the gang Galloway Boys that shot up an SUV belonging to Brenton Charlot, thinking he belonged to the rival gang Malvern Crew.

The attack happened on March 3, 2004.

Charlot, 31,was killed in the attack, while another man, Leonard bell, was seriously injured.

All three accused men were convicted of first-degree murder, attempted murder, and committing murder for the benefit of a criminal organization.

First-degree murder conviction carries a life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years.
