Police hunt for armed robbers of security company heist

Toronto police are on the hunt for two suspects after a man was bound andpistol whipped duringthe robbery of an armed security company earlier this month.

Insp. Mike Earl told reporters on Tuesday morning that on April 14, Inkas security company, located near Finch and Weston Road, was the victim of a dangerous heist involving two men wearing disguises, with one armed with a silver handgun revolver.

"The suspects ordered the victim to the ground and bound his hands. The suspects struck the victim with the butt of the handgun and made a demand for cash," the Toronto Police report says.

Police showed still photos of the two suspects. When probed by reporters, Earl would not confirm who the cash belonged to or how much money was stolen.

The Toronto Sun reported more than $750,000 in Toronto transit fares was stolen in the heist.

Earl said TTC is one of many Inkas clients.

"Some of this money very well could be fromTTC pickups," Earl said.

Toronto police have released the following descriptions of the suspects:

• Suspect one is male, 23 to 28-years-old, five feet nine inches tall to six feet tall, 150 to 180 pounds, thin build.
• Suspect two is described as male, black, 23 to 28-years-old, six feet tall, between 189 to 229 pounds, muscular build, brown eyes.

The victim was sent to hospital but has been released.
