A suspected peeping Tom has been spotted at York University for a third time this month.

A suspected peeping Tom has been spotted at York University for a third time this month.

Toronto police are trying to identify this male suspect, whom students say has been lurking in women's washrooms on the York University campus.

Toronto police say the male suspect has been hiding in womens washrooms, always fleeing the scene when his presence is noticed.

On at least one occasion, the suspect had a cellphone in his hand, and it is alleged that he has been taking pictures of students.

York University spokesperson Wallace Pidgeon said the mans actions are nothing less than disturbing.

"Its disturbing, its heinous, its just plain wrong," Pidgeon said.

Police have compiled adetailed descriptionof the suspect, whose image has been captured by security cameras on the campus.

The prospect of an active peeping Tom has renewed questions about safety at York University, which has seen a number of attacks on its students in recent years including a series of dorm room rapes and thekilling of a studentnear the edge of the campus.

Pidgeon told CBC News that the school has spent millions to improve security on campus.

That includes investment in better lighting around campus, the hiring of more security personnel, as well as the installation of more security cameras.

Still, Pidgeon said the security problems that York has dealt with are an issue on many university campuses across Canada.

"This is not just a York campus issue, this is a North America-wide issue." Pidgeon said.
