Toronto Raptors revisit final moments of Game 7

For Kyle Lowry, the final moments of Sunday afternoons game against the Brooklyn Nets seemed to fly by at two different speeds.

It felt like the longest 6.2 seconds of my life, but the fastest 6.2 seconds ever, the point guard told reporters Monday, the day after the Toronto Raptors playoff run came to an abrupt end.

The Raptors lost by a single point, but it was a loss that came in the final game of the first-round playoff series, which meant that they wont be going any further this year.

It was the end of a playoff appearance that no one saw coming, particularly after the team started out the season with a 6-12 record. The Raptors went on to win 48 games, setting a franchise season record.

Hours after the defeat to the Nets, some of the Raptors were still coming to grips with how the season had ended.

I cant really swallow that loss, said Greivis Vasquez, who told reporters that it had been hard for him to sleep.

The fans were disappointed too, though they fired off hundreds of positive tweets about their team in the aftermath of their loss.

That support did not go unnoticed by the Raptors.

DeMar DeRozan tweeted his thanks to those fans on Sunday, calling them the best in the NBA.

His shoutout was re-tweeted thousands of times.

When DeRozan talked to the media on Monday, the thin margin of Sundays defeat was still weighing on his mind.

"You think man, we lost a Game 7 by one point. One point. One point," DeRozan said. "Who knows, man. I don't know. I really don't have the answer exactly right now, but we lost by one point."

While the focus now turns to the future, it appears the organization isnt wasting time getting ready to lock down the piece it needs.

Head coach Dwane Casey was reported to have agreed to a three-year deal on Monday, news of which began to break early in the evening.

Lowry is a free agent, which means he may not be back as a Raptor next season.

And while Lowry couldnt say exactly where he would end up, he said that he was not unhappy in Toronto.

"I love this place. I love this situation. It's as simple as that," Lowry said Monday.
