TTC subway passengers dealt with 'absolutely brutal' commute

TTC subway passengers dealt with a "brutal" commute this morning as a number of factors have combined to create significant delays on the Yonge-University line (Line 1).

TTC subway passengers dealtwitha "brutal" commute this morning as a number of factors combinedto create significant delays on theYonge-Universityline (Line 1).

A fire atDavisvillestation caused delays and three unrelated passenger emergency alarms led to further problems.

An operator on Line 1 told subway passengers the following over a subway train intercom:"I want to take the time to apologize for this absolutely brutal commute this morning."

The TTC has been trying to cut down on the number of passenger assistance alarms activated in non-emergency situations.
