Vaughan caf shooting: Police release clearest image of suspect so far

Police have released a new video and images that give the clearest picture to date of the suspect in a Vaughan, Ont., caf shooting.

Police have released a newvideo and imagesthat givetheclearestpictureto date ofthesuspect in aVaughan, Ont.,caf shooting.

The York Regional Homicide Unit released the new video on Tuesday afternoon in hopes the public will be able to identify the suspect in the shooting that killed 2 at the MokaEspresso Bar cafon Islington Avenue last week.

The suspect is described as male, black, six-feet with a muscular build. In the video, which is from the day before the shooting, he appears to bewearing a blue Blue Jays baseball cap and a greyJordan-brand top.

In previous images the man's face is covered by a mask, he is wearing a hood and gloves and he never faces the camera.

On Wednesday, June 24,at 8:18 a.m., police responded to reports that four people had been shot at thecafnear Highway 7.

Two victims were pronounced deadat the scene: MariaVoci, 47, and Christopher de Simone, both of Vaughan.Two other menwere taken to hospitaland will survive.

Thesuspect is considered armed and dangerous. Police are asking the publicto call 911 immediately to report any sightings of the suspect or his vehicle, a 2011 black, Nissan Versa with licence plate BVLW 273.

The man was last seen driving south onIslingtonAvenue away from the scene of the crime. Police say the car was stolen.
