A 24-year-old woman injured in a fire last week has died.

According to Toronto Fire, she died over the weekend as a result of her injuries.

Firefighters pulled her from the basement of a home on Sheridan Avenue, in the College Street and Dufferin Street area, on Nov. 20.

The woman's basement apartment had only one exit and its windows wereblocked by security bars.

Investigators also say her apartment's smoke detector was not connected to other alarms in the building, as required.

The woman's name has not been released.
