More than 150 Ford workers laid off in Windsor are moving to Oakville.

They have accepted some of the 400 jobs the automaker made available by adding a third shift to its assembly plant there.

Chris Taylor is president of CAW Local 200, representing Windsor's unionizedFord employees. He calls it a "bittersweet" move.

"The reality is that people are uplifting families and leaving this community; a lot of good members," Taylor said. "And we certainly wish all the best for these members as they go up there."

All told, 153 employees will move from Windsor. Another 82 workers from St Thomas are also heading to Oakville.
