People in Windsor are invited to have their say about which two designs they'd prefer for the new Windsor City Hall.

The public is asked to choose their preferred concept, the two options are called the "gateway" and the "campus."

"From a design team point of view, the campus offers that clean-cut building so it doesn't have round or overlapped floors, fewer railings compared to the other one, which means less capital and operating costs," said Wadah Al-Yassiri, the city's project manager.

The project is expected to cost around $23 million, with construction starting in 2015, just north of the current city hall building.

A public vote will on the design will wrap up next Monday. People can choose between the two on the city's website, or in person.

"That's the whole purpose of this exercise, of the open house and the voting," said Al-Yassiri. "It's to see what the public want to see. Ultimately, it's not only an administration building, but it's a building that celebrates the whole city of Windsor and the public at large. "

If you want to weigh in on the design head over to the 400 building in City Hall Square Tuesday evening, the city is hosting an open house between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
