Amazon Canada says its Windsor delivery station will open its doors by the end of October.

Spokesperson Ryma Boussoufa refers to the 125,000 square foot facility as a DCL8 hub the company's "last mile of customer fulfilment" for across the Windsor-Essex region.

She says it will open with more than 70 employees and that they're currently in the process of filling those jobs.

A specific opening date was not included in a Friday statement by the company.

The warehouse and processing facility is where the old Chrysler Pillette Road assembly plant used to be.

Amazon says jobs will start at $22.60per hour.
