Windsor police arrested a man on arson charges after he allegedlyset fire to the back deck of a home on Caron Avenue.

Police responded to reports of a disturbance on Janette Avenue on Sunday afternoon, where they found a 40-year-old man with severe burns. The man was taken to hospital and later charged witharson with disregard for human life and arson causing damage to property.

According to police, a verbal altercation broke out at the home on Caron Avenue between the man and that home's occupants. The man poured gasoline on the backyard deck and intentionally lit it after the fight became physical.

The man then fled on foot, ending up at the home on Janette Avenue where police found him.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the WIndsor force's arson unit.
