Police investigate fatal hit and run on Austin Road on Walpole Island
Lambton Country OPP says the collision involved a motorist and a pedestrian. The stretch of roadway between Creek Road and River Road has since reopened.
A 47-year-old pedestrian from Walpole Island was killed
Police in Lambton County areinvestigating a fatal hit and run Austin Road in Walpole Island First Nation.
They say it happened just before 3 a.m. Friday.
Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police, Walpole Island First Nation police and emergency services responded to a collision involving a 47-year-old pedestrian from Walpole and a motorist, who fled the scene.
The incident occurred on Austin Road, between Creek Road and River Road.
The stretch of roadway has since reopened after being shut down for several hours.
The police are still trying to locate the motorist who fled the scene.
