Windsor residents have plenty to complain about

A report from Municipal Benchmarking Network Canada shows Windsor residents make more bylaw complaints per capita than their counterparts in larger cities, such as Toronto and Ottawa.

There's plenty to complain about when it comes to Windsor property standards.

A report from Municipal Benchmarking Network Canada shows Windsor residents make more bylaw complaints per capita than their counterparts in larger cities, such as Toronto and Ottawa.

The group compared data from 15 Canadian cities, looking at complaints related to noise, property standards, yard maintenance and zoning.

The city received close to 3,500 calls for every 100,000 residents. Toronto received just 1,500 per 100,000.

West-end resident Terry Kennedy is a frequent caller to the city's service centre. He's not not surprised with Windsor's numbers.

Kennedy believes it's because Windsorites have a lot of pride.

"We all have that respect for our city, and we want to show it," he said. "I want to make sure that my city is the best it can be."
