Canada South Science City needs to move, future unclear

The Canada South Science City has been enlightening the kids of Windsor-Essex for more than a decade.

The educational attraction opened in time for March Break in2004 in the former DeSantisschool building, which the city owns on Marion Avenue. Now, it's being forced to move.

Bill Baylis, the president of Science City, says an engineering study found the building needs $1.5 million in repairs to bring it up to code.

Under the previous council, there was some talk of the City of Windsor providing $500,000 to help do repairs.

Baylis said that in February, the Science City decided in an in-camera meeting that was not the way to go, sothe centre has been asked to move.

Baylis spoke with CBC Windsor's Stacey Janzer about the centre's situation on Wednesday.
