Auditors with Price Waterhouse Coopers are concerned about what they describe as a lack of consistency with some Windsor business improvement associations.

City councillor Chris Holt saidthe issue, which was raised in a recent internal audit, can arise because some of the BIAs are small, and are run by volunteers.

He wants the city to reach out and help them get organized.

"Maybe some sort of training program. Let's help the people that are running the BIAs to do the job properly as the city requires, because the city requires certain reporting financially and through our AGM and our constitution to meet certain objectives that the city has, so maybe we can do something as a municipality to help the BIAs succeed."

Holt added consistencywas not a problem when the city had a BIA coordinator.
