58 kilograms of suspected cocaine seized at Blue Water Bridge

A 29-year-old driver from Brantford, Ont. is facing numerous charges.

More than 58 kilograms of suspected cocaine was seized at the Blue Water Bridge by the Canada Border Services Agency. (Canada Border Services Agency)

Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) seized more than 58 kilograms of suspected cocain at the Blue Water Bridge.

On May 24, a traveller was referred for secondary examination.

CBSA officers used a detector dog team and a large-scale imaging x-ray to locate the drugs.

Forty-eight bricks of suspected cocaine were found in the vehicle in an after-market compartment.

The 29-year-old driver, from Brantford, Ont., was arrested and charged with one count of importing, one count of possession and one count of trafficking, all in relation to a schedule one substance.
