Councillor Postma will not run again

CBC News has learned Windsor city councillor Caroline Postma will not seek re-election in this fall's municipal election.

CBC News has learned Windsor city councillor Caroline Postma will not seek re-election.

She has decided to step down after this fall's municipal election.

The 37-year-old has served on council for two terms, but told CBC she and her family have decided they've had enough.

"This term of council in particular has been quite stressful on a personal level and we've had some tough, tough things to try to wade the waters through," said Postma.

"I'm tired of living in that fishbowl and being under the media scrutiny. With the advent of the internet, it's continually difficult to take destructive criticism."

Postma said she does not have another job lined up at this time.
