Think twice if you see a U.S. $100 bill near London, Ont.

If you live near London, Ont., and you see a bill with Benjamin Franklins picture on it, you may want to ensure it is real.

If you see a bill with Benjamin Franklin's picture on it, you may want to ensure it is real.

The Middlesex County OPP say people have been trying to use and in some cases successfully using fake U.S. $100 bills near London, Ont., lately.

According to police, this happened on a handful of occasions in Middlesex Centre between Wednesday and Friday of last week.

Those incidents followed the seizure of two of these fake bills from a pair of commercial businessesin Thames Centre on Feb. 4. In these prior cases, a17-year-old male from London was arrested and charged with two counts of uttering counterfeit money.

No arrests have been made in the more recent cases, which remain under investigation.
