Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH) says an outbreak on its 4North unit at Met Campus has been rescinded. It was put in place 10 days ago after three patients tested positive for COVID-19.

Now, three new cases, this time in the 7North unit at Met, have resulted in another outbreak being issued. The hospital says outbreak mesures have been put in place.

If no new cases are identified by Oct. 24 this latest outbreakwill be lifted, according to the hospital.

Recently, a revised masking policy rolled out at the hospital including staff and volunteers being required to wear them when they're near patients.

WRH is also recommending visitors to mask when near patients.

"Masking is highly recommended for visitors and patients in waiting rooms and lounges in high-risk areas such as Dialysis, the Emergency Department and the Cancer Centre," the hospital said in a media release issued earlier this month.

Hospital staff advise the public to seek advice from medical experts when it comes to best practices to combat COVID-19.
