CS Wind slapped with 10 work orders following injury

The Ministry of Labour has issued work orders to a Windsor part maker for wind turbines after an injury happened Tuesday.

The Ministry of Transportation has issued 10 work orders to CS Wind in Windsor.

The Ministry of Labour has issued work orders to a Windsor part maker for wind turbines after an injury happened Tuesday.

A ministry investigator was called to the CS Wind plant at 9355 Anchor Dr. after a worker's feet were injured.

The worker was pulled into a steel bending machine.

The ministry inspector issued a total of 10 orders including:

Five orders related to the incident:

  • Pre-start engineering report
  • Training records for injured worker
  • Development of procedures where a worker is in close proximity to machine
  • Training for workers regarding new procedure above
  • Controls are locked out while working in machine

Five unrelated orders:

  • 3 orders requiring guard rails around pits and machines
  • 2 orders to provide proper walking platforms on two bending machines
