Death at Benjamin Avenue fire ruled a homicide

Police are investigating after a 31-year-old woman was found dead in a two-storey house on Benjamin Avenue, after it caught fire early Thursday morning.

Windsor police are treating the death of a 31-year-old woman as a homicideafter her body was foundinsideafire-ravagedhome on Benjamin Avenue.

Is a statement, police said a postmortem examination will be conducted Friday morning at London Health Sciences in London, Ont.

Windsor police spokesman Sgt. MattD'Astisays police are conducting "a death investigation."

The two-storey house on Benjamin Avenue, near Shepherd Street, was the scene of an early morning fire onThursday.

The fire department arrived on the scene around 3 a.m.

Later in the day, crime scene tape surrounded the house and some cars in the area.

Police also had the canine unit on scene and werecanvassing the neighbourhood.
