It's done.

Ontario Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca tweeted Friday morning that all construction on the Herb Gray Parkway has been completed.

The government says the project cost $1.4 billion.

The final stretch of the parkway, which goes between Highway 3 and the Ojibway Parkway, will open to the public on Saturday.

The first portion of the new parkway had already opened in June.

The parkway's website indicates that the first day of construction was on Aug. 18, 2011.

Four years later, the work is now over.
