OPP investigating after four rainbow crosswalks vandalized in Petrolia

Provincial police in Lambton are investigating after four rainbow crosswalks in the city were vandalized recently.

Provincial police in Lambton County are investigating after four rainbow crosswalks in the city were heavily defacedlast weekend.

According to OPP, officers responded on Sunday morning to reports that four rainbow-coloured crosswalks in the Town of Petrolia had been vandalized.

Photos shared by policeshow the colours of the crosswalks entirely covered with white paint.

The crosswalks were located at Greenfield, Blanche and Maple Streetsand Dufferin Avenue in Petrolia.

Lambton OPP are continuing to investigate and are asking the public for assistance.

Businesses and residents in the areas of the crosswalks mentioned are asked to check their dash or surveillance camera recordings from Sunday, Sept. 22,between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.
