Windsor police charge male suspect following multi-vehicle collision that sent two to hospital

A multi-vehicle crash on Tecumseh Road East Sunday sent two people to hospital andleft one car flipped on its roof just steps from the door of a business.

Windsor police have charged a male suspect in a multi-vehicle collision that sent two people to hospital on Sunday morning.

Police said Monday a 29-year-old Windsor man was charged with motor vehicle theft, dangerous driving, drug impaired motor vehicle operation, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of a controlled substance.

The suspect was arrested Sunday, shortly after he causedthe collision that also left one car flipped on its roof just steps from the door of a business.

The suspect was found fleeing a stolen white sedan that was driven by the suspect when he caused the collision.

"Patrol officers arrived and several witnesses pointed out the male suspect who was now fleeing the area on foot. An officer pursued the suspect who was subsequently arrested without incident," said Windsor police.

"A quantity of suspected narcotics was located in possession of the suspect."

The collision involving four vehicles happened at around noon Sunday at the corner of Tecumseh Road East and Bernard Road.

One of the vehicles which was badly damaged is a classic Chevy car.
