Police Taser man waving 'large kitchen knife' in downtown Windsor

Officers on patrol noticed the man after spotting crowds of people running from him on Ouellette Avenue north of Wyandotte around 2:30 a.m.

Windsor police Tasered aman who "screaming hysterically" and waving a "large kitchen knife" in downtown Windsor in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Officers on patrol noticed the man after spotting crowds of people running from him on Ouellette Avenue north of Wyandotte around 2:30 a.m.

The man did not listen to requests from police so a Taser was used to take him down, according to the force.

No injuries were reported, but the man was taken to hospital for mental health assistance.
