Special weather statement remains in effect for Windsor

A rainfall warning has ended forthe Windsor region, but rain is still in the forecast, prompting a special weather statement from Environment Canada.

The national weather service says showers and thunderstorms could continue for Essex County on Friday following torrential rainfall earlier in the week.

The national weather agency expectsanywhere from 15-30 mmof rain to fall by the end of day Sunday.

Rainfall amounts have varied in the region since starting Wednesday evening, ranging from 85 mm in Windsor to 190mm in Tecumseh, according to Environment Canada.

Environment Canada says it will continue to monitor the situation closely.
