Snow cancels school buses in Essex County

The record snowfall that hit Windsor-Essexon Sunday has led to the cancellation of school bus service in the county.

School buses were also cancelled for Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton.Buses were running in the City of Windsor.

A single-day snowfall record of 28 cm was recorded atthe airport yesterday, with another centimetre coming down this morning before it stopped.

"The system actually got moisture from the Gulf of Mexico as it tracked northward, which also helped the snowfall amounts to be what they were," saidRyanRozinskisis a meteorologist with Environment Canada.
