Windsor Jewish group speaks out following bomb threats

Windsor's Jewish Federation and Community Centre has spoken out following dozens of bomb threatsmade across the country on Wednesday morning.

Executive director Marion Zeller said in a statement that the Jewish community in Canada has been targeted for months and"has had enough of the intimidation attempts, the attacksand the threats."

"We call on our leaders to stand up for the citizens of Canada, stand up for the Canadian Jewish community, and stand up for the right of all Canadians to live freely and without fear in this country," she said.

"We call for action from our political leaders to stop these terrifying attacks on (the) Canadian Jewish Community."

So far Windsor's Jewish group hasnot received any direct threats.

A threatening email was sent on Wednesdayto Jewish institutions across Canada, leading to policeinvestigations across multiple cities.

The email was sent to more than 100 synagogues, Jewish community centres and other institutions across the country,a spokesperson for the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs said.

Jewish advocacy group B'nai Brith Canada said the emails sent at 5 a.m. threatened explosions, including at their offices in Toronto and Montreal.
