Windsor police arrest several men spending counterfeit money

Officers learned the men had been to several stores trying to buy goods with counterfeit $100 bills Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses saw the men get into a vehicle that was later determined to be stolen from Toronto.

Windsor police nabbed several men who were driving around in a stolen vehicle trying to spend fake American cash last week.

Officers learned the men had been to several stores trying to buy goods with counterfeit $100 billsWednesday afternoon. Witnesses saw the men get into a vehicle that was later determined to be stolen from Toronto.

While investigating one of the incidents, police spotted someone who fit one of the suspect's description walking with another man on Randolph Avenue, heading south from Wyandotte Street W.

The men got into the stolen vehicle and were promptly pulled over by police. Five men were arrested, but two were later released without charges.

A 22-year-old man from Toronto is charged with possession of counterfeit money and uttering counterfeit money. A 23-year-old man from Toronto is charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of counterfeit money and uttering counterfeit money.

A 22-year-old man from Windsor is charged with possession of counterfeit money.
