Windsor police say they are investigating two separate deliberately-set fires over the weekend.

Officers responded to the 1500 block of Pelissier Street for a report of a house fire around 4 a.m. Sunday.

"An initial investigation determined that the blaze started at the rear of the residence before spreading through the home and causing minor damage to neighbouring properties," said police, noting that the same house was also the scene of a fire last month.

Around 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of adifferent fire this time on Cowan Court in Amherstburg. Police saidthe home was "completely engulfed in flames," and damage has been estimated at about $1.6 million.

No injuries were reported ineither case. The Windsor Police Service's arson unit launched separate investigations into each incident, and determined that both fires were set intentionally.

Anyone in the area at the time of either fire is asked to check their dash orsurveillance cameras for video evidence, and to contact Windsor police with any information.
