25-year-old charged after Windsor senior found dead in his home

A 25-year old has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a Windsor, Ont., senior last week.

A 25-year-old has been charged with murder after a Windsor, Ont.,senior was found dead in his home last week.

Police saidthat on Thursdaymorning, they located and arrested one man at a home in the 700 block of Pierre Avenue.

He has been charged with first-degree murder and break and enter.Reginald John Frickeywas found dead in his Highland Avenue home on Oct.25.

Jason Crowley, Windsor police deputy chief of operations, thanked the Major Crimes Unit for its quick arrest of the man allegedly "responsible for this heinous crime."

"I hope these charges bring some closure to the loved ones of Mr. Frickey and help them heal from this tragedy."

Police saida post-mortem examinationdetermined Frickey's death was a homicide.

"Investigators have confirmed that the homicide was an isolated incident, and the victim and accused were known to one another," police said in thestatement.

Earlier this week, police held a news conference calling for surveillance camera footage, sayingone suspect appeared to be purposefully avoiding security cameras in the home.

At the time, investigators said nothing appeared to have been stolen from the home and there was no indication of a forced entry. The victim was not known to police.
